I've stayed at Thurst house twice now and can't wait to come back again. Judith and David are two of the nicest people you will ever meet and exceed expectations at every turn. Stunning views of the rolling countryside and perfectly situated for access to many local walking trails. The rooms in the main house are cosy and warm with all the amenities you would expect. The cottage is a perfect spot for couples of someone looking for a bit more privacy or space. Breakfast is amazing with all local ingredients. Ask to try a coddled egg! I look forward to my next visit!
Lovely, spacious, dog friendly cottage with a beautiful immediate surrounding area. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen adequate and overall it was a peaceful experience. The WiFi was quite impressive once we were able to connect. There's a small enclosed field which can be used for exercising your fury companion which borders other fields, one of which was occupied by livestock. Our boy made some friends here.There's no bath which I feel is a real negative for some people desiring a short break away from the city. The experience was somewhat tarnished by some odd behaviour from the owners. I understand that the cottage borders the owners' house and (at a push) I understand that the owners' might want to do a bit of gardening in an area that's only a few feet away from the cottage. However, I don't think it is acceptable to have a lawn mower on for 3 hours (not an exaggeration) while there's paying guests on a relaxing break. Won't be staying again.
What a wonderful, relaxing and comfortable stay in the holiday cottage. Having stayed in the house with a lovely B & B experience last year Judith showed us the holiday cottage and we thought we must try it out.We brought our dog which was great and all the comforts of home were provided with a lovely view of the rolling hills. Great walks right on the doorstep or with a little drive away. Also we were offered an opt in for breakfast in the house if we wanted a more comfortable stay.
